March 1st: My mom went to China for a vacation quite a while ago (has it been a year already?) and she brought back these adorable outfits for the kids. I finally got all 3 dressed up, and as hard as it was buttoning these little tiny cloth buttons on a moving 3 year old and non-stop 14 month old, trying to get a picture of all 3 of them together was even harder!
February 9th:
Drew and Daddy made a "juice box boat" that he saw in one of his new favorite books, Can You See What I See? (with Seymour) by Walter Wick. They put it together AND it actually floated!! Then, of course, they had to make Katie one as well, that one ended up a milk carton boat, but it floated just as well!
Drew is doing great in school. It's hard to believe, but we'll be registering him for kindergarten this weekend!
Februrary 9th:
Katie's doing great in school too. She loves it and asks every day if today is a school day for her! She talks a lot and is very clear and has very important things to say! She is going to be 3 in a couple of weeks and wants a Dora cake for her birthday. She saw some princess dresses at the store and wants to get some of those for her birthday, too. Maybe she won't be such a tomboy after all!
February 13th:
Despite having played out in the snow all afternoon, Katie just had to try on her new swimsuit that we ordered! She paraded around in it for quite a while, and it took a lot of convincing to get her back into regular (winter!) clothes!
January 21st:
Just a cute picture of Alex. Still amazed when I see those blue eyes! She's been walking since Thanksgiving, she just roams around the house finding whatever she can to play with! She's very persistent when it comes to the things she knows are no-no's. We call her Boomerang, because you take her away from a no-no and she'll walk away like she understands then do a 180 and head right back toward the aforementioned no-no. She's quite funny!
January 26th:
Alex roaming around the house. Before she started walking, Alex would say "Drew, Katie, dada, mama, bye, hi, cheese" and a few other words. But, once she started walking, she completely quit talking. Over the last few days (last week of February) she has really started babbling again, and now she'll say "Hi" and "Wheee" and a few other imitating sounds. She'll babble and we'll say "Huh?" back at her and she'll say "Huh?" and that will go back and forth several times!
Februrary 26th:
The weather warmed up (30s) and we took advantage to get outside! Drew rode his bike around the block, Katie rode her tricycle and on 2/28, she pedaled for the first time going down a driveway! Alex surprised the neighbors by toddling around the block one day, but she kept stopping to pick up the snow and everything else in sight, so she get stuck back in the strollers for our other walks!

Alex walking around outside. I get a lot of compliments on the coat (from Old Navy). Last week, a woman at Kroger recognized that she had seen us at Target the day before because she remembered Alex and her "adorable teddy bear coat"! She is a cutie!
February 28th:
We got a new air cleaner, and Alex thinks it is fun to stand next to it and let the fan blow her hair. We finally got a picture of her doing it, with Katie joining in on the fun too!
More fun with the air cleaner...you can see that Alex has also recently raided the fridge, grabbing her favorite thing...the Ranch dressing. She doesn't eat it, but she can frequently be spotted carrying it around since she sneaks it out of the fridge every time it's opened!
February 13th:
The biggest excitement we've had lately is snow, snow, and more snow! Between the wind chill and snow, Drew has missed quite a bit of school. But, they sure love the snow! Drew went out to play with Matthew the day we got the biggest hit of snow, and Katie and I shoveled Rich's side of the driveway so he could get home from work! We shoveled about 6 in. from his side, and there were several more inches by the time he got home. Once the ice started, it made things a lot more difficult, but we did get it all cleared thankfully. And, Rich finally got to use the new snowblower! Exciting!!

February 18th:
Rich took Drew and Katie sledding at Scioto Park. They got all bundled up and headed out. Alex was a little upset getting left behind, but it was very cold that day, and the poor little thing just falls over in the snow, so she and I sat this one out!
Wheeeeeeeeee! They have so much fun!!
Katie wanted to pull the sled up the hill all by herself. She actually was able to do it a few times!
Hello! We decided to jump on the blog bandwagon, so here we are! We always wish we had written down things that the kids said or did, so we'd always remember, but we've never done that, so I'm hoping this will help! And this is a great way for our family and friends, who are far, to stay updated with the kids as they grow and develop! Hopefully we'll be able to keep this up!
