9/11/08: Now that Will is able to sit unsupported for short periods of time, I decided he was big enough to ride in the double jogger/trailer. We did a short trial jog to the park and he did great! Not a comfy place to sleep so that limits the times we can use it, but hey, it's a start! Here are Alex and Will on their maiden voyage!

Later that day, I sat Will on the ground and realized he was not falling over...he sat long enough for me to frantically search for the camera, find it, and take some pictures and video! One week to 5 mos. and he's sitting alone. It helps having a 75th percentile body and a 30th percentile head...he's like a triangle ;)

As Nana and Papaw were leaving, we noticed the wind had really picked up outside. We were supposed to get some rain as the remnants of Hurricane Ike moved through the area, but we were completely unprepared for the 40-50 mph winds that we had here in Ohio. A lot of trees were lost in the area, most of our neighbors had damage to their roofs (we're tucked in the middle of the subdivision, so may be what spared us!), and Ike left a generalized mess in the area. Our neighbors behind us had this tree completely uproot...the picture is taken through the window because at this point it was too unsafe to be outside. This was right before our patio table lifted up and flipped over into the bushes...

9/15/08: A pear tree right behind our house split in half and came crashing down toward the patio...it missed the house by a few inches...our neighbor owns a landscape company so his guys were out in our neighborhood and took care of a lot of the trees very quickly...here they are chopping the pear tree completely down...

Our tree out by the curb, waiting for the chopper...I was a bit bummed, that was one of my favorite trees...it was right outside the kitchen window above my sink, so I spent a lot of time staring at that tree through all the seasons!
