I had looked up some pictures of Katie at the same age, actually a bit younger, than Alex to see what her hair had looked like at the similar age. Alex's hair is curly, especially in the back, but as I suspected, it doesn't have anywhere near the curl Katie's hair had at this age. My hair was almost the same color as Alex's when I was this age (according to my parents) and when mine turned blonde, the curl was gone. I am beginning to think she may be our straight-haired child as she gets older! We'll see! Here she is a few days ago, right after a bath, when her hair is curliest.
And, here is Katie, at just over 18 months.
