Six weeks old!

May 29th: Will is six weeks old already! I have a picture of each of the kids at 6 weeks old in the same gown/hat. Unfortunately, the hat is missing! It made it through 3 kids and then mysteriously disappeared...I'm sure I'll find it in one of the other clothes bins in the basement! But here are all the kiddos...

Cuteness!

May 28th: Alex, looking cute in her little springy outfit with her matching hairband...she walked around telling everyone "Look at me, I'm cute!" Her favorite phrase!

Katie had soccer today, so she is dressed and ready to go. Her pigtails are getting so long, but she wants to cut her hair shoulder-length like her friend, Norah, when we go for our next haircuts.
Here's Will, ready to go, but not very happy about it...I just wanted to get a picture of him with the beautiful blanket my grandma made for him.

May 25th: We love to ride bikes. We haven't been able to do much this summer as a family since Will obviously isn't big enough for the bike seat or trailer. Drew can ride as far as Rich can take him, but Katie still has training wheels and can't quite keep up on her bike. She weighs too much for the bike seat so I suggested to Rich that he get a tandem for his bike...so despite his skepticism that she would like it, we bought one and he put it on his bike, and she absolutely loves it! And she's just too cute on it as well...they rode to a park a couple of subdivisions over, so I drove with Will and Alex and met them there. On the way home, I was driving past them and happened to have the camera in the car, so I took a picture and then shot a quick video. Luckily, they were on a side street that doesn't get much traffic (look familiar, Thompsons?) so I was able to drive along beside them. No one was hurt in the making of this film...

Five weeks and counting!

May 22nd: Will is 5 weeks old today! Luckily, I remembered right before bedtime, so got a shot of him during his pre-bedtime snooze! Here he is, sleeping peacefully in his swing...

Katie and Alex were having fun running around in their robes after their baths. They were so cute we had to get a picture. The robe Alex is wearing was made by my friend, Rachel, when we lived in Michigan, for Drew. It has held up well through 3 kids already!


May 23rd: Will is starting to smile and coo a lot more now. When he has wakeful periods I feel like someone should be available for him to look at and make his little noises. I needed to get dinner together, so I had the kids all sit and hold him in the boppy and talk to him so he could have some interaction...

Katie's turn...despite being told not to pick him up off the boppy, Katie has gotten brave and now feels the need to hug Will when she holds him...he doesn't mind...too much...Alex had to have a turn, of course...she is so funny with Will..."He's got a soothie" (said in your best cartoon character voice)...

"He's got fingers!!"...

"He's got a belly button. Look, Willy, I got a belly button too!"...
We got out the bumbo...Will liked it okay, he likes to be upright when he's awake and watching everything around him...I thought this picture was funny because Drew's head looks huge next to Will's!

I have a cute picture of Alex in the bumbo, with Drew and Katie behind her, but trying to do that with all 4 proved much more difficult. Surprisingly, Drew was the one who just couldn't follow the directions to squeeze in behind Katie, and then Will decided he had had enough of the bumbo, so maybe another day!!

End of soccer season

May 17th: Today was Drew's last soccer game. Here is another slide show from a great season! Drew scored average 2 goals per game in May and really started dribbling the ball well and did an amazing job at defense (finally got it!)...he loves soccer and is already looking forward to fall!

May 8th: Will is three weeks old today!! Here is another cute picture of Katie holding Will...she loves that baby so much, it is too cute! Happy 3 weeks, Will!
May 10th: My grandparents came to meet Will, as well as all of my aunts. Here is Will getting to know Granny...

A picture with us all! Except Rich, I don't know where he was when these were taken! Four kids in one picture...not easy!
Alex took a liking to Grandpa...she even made him dress her baby doll and "come play with me, grandpa!" in the basement. I think she wore him out!My aunt Donna took some really cute pictures...here's one she took of Katie...
One of Alex in the new hat they brought her...I didn't even know this picture was taken, but when I got it in an email, I thought "Hey, I've been wanting to have someone take a picture like this!" since this is the way Will and I spend most of our time!!

Announcement attempt Take 2!

May 5th: I borrowed Bob and Lisa's camera to try to get a picture of Will for his announcement...turns out it is the photographer, not just the camera! (Though, for the record, I still think we should get a new camera!) There were so many cute pictures, but the lighting just wasn't good enough and they were all a bit grainy. I ended up using the 1st picture, along with a picture of each of the big kids holding him...here are a few from his photo shoot...

He's such a smiler already...random smiles, but smiles nonetheless. And he actually giggles in his sleep already...more like a chuckle, I suppose. Rich and I like to imagine what he could be dreaming about...milk, milk, and more milk!

Two weeks old!!!

May 1st: Two weeks already! Here's the little man sleeping away...pretty much all he does at 2 weeks!

So comfy! He just looks so tiny when Rich holds him! I took this picture to show that he's not really that much bigger than Rich's hand when he's all curled up and snuggly!

May 2nd: Alex likes to lay on the floor next to "Willy". She lays and looks at him, then eventually tries to lay on him or pick him up or something that necessitates his floor time to be over!
This picture was funny because their hands are in the same position!

May 3: I had Rich take a picture of Will coming out of his carseat...one thing I have always loved about newborns is how they curl their legs up when you pick them up. I wanted to always remember it...we did a video too, for memory's sake!
Trying to get a picture of his tiny little toesies!May 4: Will was awake and alert, so I decided to try and snap a picture for his birth announcement...unfortunately the pictures were grainy...we need a new camera (or a new photographer!)...
Here he is lifting his head way up...two week olds aren't supposed to do that, little fellow! People are always surprised by how well he holds his head up, but all 4 of our kids had strong neck muscles (and small heads...I think that helps the most!!)

Worn out from our photo shoot, he is back to sleeping in his favorite place...the papasan swing!
